To fill the trans axle. I can not find the plug. Is it a bolt? I don't want to unscrew the wrong thing. I thought it would be more obvious.

So just take that bolt out? Fill to just below the hole?

So I guess you need to let it sit for awhile before you take the plug out? When I opened it up the fluid poured out.

I pulled the plug half way up. Not the one at he bottom. I've never added fluid and I just took it for a long ride.

Bert,
Some gear boxes have a fill plug near the very top, often only accessable if the body is removed. Someone could have filled through that hole, and could have overfilled it if they didn't have the plug on the side removed.

You really don't want it overfilled, as it can cause the axle seals to lead, contaminating the brakes.
