Headlights blown out
I have a 98 CC 48 volt 6 battaries. I went to use it the other day and when I turned on the lights they both blew out. I checked the voltage and it appears as though they have 21 volts running to them. The tail lights on the same switch did not blow and they have 23 volts going to them. I replaced one bulb, so if they were to burn out I only would burn out one. Well it blew out. Do I need 2 bulbs to handle the current? Does having 21 volts going to the lights sound like a voltage reducer not working?
Thanks |

Yep! I just changed a reducer for that very reason. Mine blew the radio up as well.

Re: Headlights blown out
Are the lights wired to the Voltage Reducer or to the battery pack?

Re: Headlights blown out
Thanks for the replies. I will have to check for the voltage reducer when I go back down to Fl. The thing that throws me off is why the tail lights are not blowing out And they showed 23 volts??? By the way, where will I find the voltage reducer? Is all I saw was a yellow wire with a fuse link coming off one of the batteries'. That I just assumed went to the switch.

Re: Headlights blown out
there's no telling why the tail lights survived ... yes follow the yellow brick road .. oh wait wrong meds ... follow the yellow wire off the positive post to the reducer , also should be a black off the negative post .. you missed the tropical storm down here today

Thanks Mr. Crash tester.......
I was surprised I did not see any wire coming off any of the negative post. Take it your on the west coast. I'm on the east. |
