2006 precedent club car losing speed

Hi. My 2006 electric club car has lost its speed. When I charge it fully and drive it first it's fine for about 10 yards and loses power and runs on a low speed. When I'm driving it for a while it gives a little speed bursts but only lasts for few seconds like there's a wire loose or something. The car was lying up for a while so could be batteries and it was towed to my house by uncle and was not on tow mode. any help appreciated.

How old are the batteries and have you load tested them? Sounds like old worn out batteries to me.

Don't no exactly how old they are but say they weren't changed.will probably need to replace them. What readings should I get from each battery and accross the whole pack ? Also what damage would have been done while towing on run mode?

How do I test to see if controller is damaged. Is it the obc or dc motor controller that would be damaged?

I would agree with volt_ampere and focus on the batteries, specially if they are original 2006 batteries. It was not clear from your first post if the batteries were dead when you towed the cart, if they were, you are safe.
The only issue with towing it without putting it on "tow" is that the controller would try to apply regen breaking to keep the cart from rolling away. It should have been hard to tow if that was the case. Even then, as long as the negative cable is going thru the OBC, so it can measure/regulate the regen current, and the cart was not towed faster than 15-19mph, the controller should be fine.

yes sergio the batteries were dead when it was been towed. to be honest dont no what speed it was towed at as i wasn't there but i'd say it would of been towed faster than that speed when i was talking to my uncle. hopefully didn't damage controller. i'll focus on the batteries for the moment, what steps should i go through to see if batteries are the problem, with regards to load testing and voltage readings?

Read abit into this fault and lot people saying its the speed sensor located on passenger side of motor. Done a test, while key on and in fwd mode I pushed the cart and the beeper didn sound and the regen resistance didn kick in so this test shows the speed sensor gone. Gona order new sensor and see how it's gets on. Anyone any idea of this.

I am assuming you followed the procedure in the sticky... if so, TahoeDawgZ71 posted the 2 different sensors and part # for each in the first post.
If You take the passenger side rear wheel off, it is pretty easy to change the sensor.
