Motor info
Well I started looking for info on my motor and couldn't find anything on google or the club car website. Is there a somewhere I can find this info? Perhaps someone here knows a website with this information?
It's Part # 1017857-02, model # 5BC59JBS6218A 48 volt. I know it's a 3.75 HP but I was wanting RPM info. Thanks in advance, Gary |

Re: Motor info
Gary, it seems the golf cart world likes to keep their motors a secret. Keep looking for info and I will tell you what I do in the meantime.
I am still learning but I am getting better at identifying the manufacturer, most stock American carts use Advanced DC or GE motors. The older carts can have ADC, GE, and Baldor motors. Carts from China usually have their own cheap version although I have discovered GE will make a cheap motor if the purchaser asks for it. Aftermarket motors are the best quality usually; you still need to be careful. GE makes motors with the "D" designation (as far as I know) like D-392, D-380 and D395. I know this did not answer your question, I would need to see your motor to get an idea of what class it was then I would need to see inside it to know roughly what its torque band was. Sorry I can’t be clear on your answer. |

Re: Motor info
I took some pix of it with my cell phone but I guess I deleted them. I'll take some pix tonight and post them.

Put a ruler against the case when you snap your pictures.

Re: Motor info
I don't see any bolt heads on the side of the case near the ruler's 4" and 6" points and the case appears gray. It looks like one of the cheaper motors from the picture; this means you can't exceed 48 volts. PQ has been able to make these motors run better than stock but don't expect it to win a competition unless you are up against another cart with same type of motor.
Unfortunately this is not one of the better motors; it is either made in china or a cheap GE. We call these "Tin Cans" It is a decent motor for stock and playing golf, which is what these carts were intended for. If anyone knows different please write in. |
