Testing Motor On '96 Electric Club Car Cart???
Can anyone advise me as to the easiest way for me to test the motor on my '96 Club Car Cart? I replaced the solenoid thinking I had a short going to it but that did not solve my problem. The cart was running great but now it seems to run for a short time then totally stop. I've got new batteries (~ 1 year old) and they are full of water and fully charged. When the cart stops running, the batteries are not below 80% charged. Do I need to test my motor? Please advise. Thank you.

You are describing a common problem associated with the controller. You have controller failing.

Re: Testing Motor On '96 Electric Club Car Cart???
Just did this to test my motor.
Disconnect all 4 wires on motor. Jump A1 to S1 Hook batt + to A2 Batt - to S2 I used jumper cables and 2 of my 8v cart batteries to give the motor 16 v so it wouldn't be too powerful. Mine worked :) |

Re: Testing Motor On '96 Electric Club Car Cart???
If you let the cart sit for a while does it start running again? If not, what do you have to do to get the cart to move? How long/far is a "short time"
Test each battery and post the voltages. |
