Want to speed up 2001 DS Regen II
Hello,
I live in a over 55 MH Park in FL and I want to speed up my stock 2001 CC DS 48 volt RegenII (12 mph max). Can I just replace the motor, if so with what, or do I need to replace the controller and FND switch also. May be cheaper to buy one already modified and swap parts. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks, Kim P.S. I found a Club Car High Speed motor on Craigslist for $200, Part number 101785702, 3.75 hp 48 volt. will this fit my cart? Thanks, Kim |

Re: Want to speed up 2001 DS Regen II
Hi Kim, we are in the same boat. I have a 2000 model. Mine is stock also except
for #4 wire and 22" tires. I was getting 13-14. I unplugged the speed sensor wire at the back of the motor and now I am burning the road up at 15 mph. But I order they they shipped today from plum quick motors what they call there executioner motor. They say I should hit 25-30 with my stock controller. If you want to hold off, I should get it Tuesday of next week and I will post the outcome. I think you can put a stock 36V motor on it an get around 19mph out of it. You can send yours to PQ and they will upgrade yours to a bandit for around $250. |

Re: Want to speed up 2001 DS Regen II
I have 22" tires on mine and was getting 14-15 with the regen unplugged. I changed the motor out with the PQ executioner and went to 26-27 then went to a 500A controller and now getting 31. A PQ bandit should get you around 19 which is a nice cruise speed and not as hard to stop.

Re: Want to speed up 2001 DS Regen II
Look for my build threads and posts, I have a 2001 REGEN DS that has a 500 amp controller and highspeed motor, 2 gauge wires, etc. It has HUGE torque and plenty of speed, easy goes 24-26 on the flat and over 30 on slight inclines.

Re: Want to speed up 2001 DS Regen II
Ok, most of my build threads are no longer...
So this is what you need, plan for about $1200.00 An Alltrax 500 amp DCX PDPlus controller 2 gauge cables a 400 amp solenoid and a high speed regen/iq motor I have an Admiral motor but they are no longer produced so this is what we use now and they are rock solid with high speed and plenty of torque. http://www.evdrives.com/product_p/np-3294.htm If you are going to run a lift and big tires, then I recommend a different motor. But if you are running a stock setup like mine in the pictures that this is that you need. |
