Default New Motor For 2000 CC DS

Well x-mas has come early as I have received my purple box from Plum Quick Motors. Inside was a custom built PQ Rattlesnake II series motor. Pulled everything out of the cart so I can clean and paint the lift, leaf springs , rear end and hang new shocks. while I'm in there new leaf spring bushings/bolts and drain replace the gear oil / adjust brakes.

Stay Tuned for more pics to come

Got a good days work in today . everything got cleaned and painted yesterday so leaf springs got installed along with new shocks . Motor got mounted on the transaxle, changed gear oil and adjusted brakes. Had to solder on some new lugs for the motor so we should be set to hang it tomorrow.

Used Monroe Gas Matic Shocks it will fit stock DS also
Monroe #31176 (also O'Reilly Auto #)
Advance Auto #55829

Well got more done today , but ran into a little problem. One of the shocks came with the wrong bushings. Did not notice this the day before when I put in (top) the shocks. So after dealing with advance auto for an hour the will order me a new shock and it will be in tomorrow. No they wouldn't open any of the wall full of boxes to take out a kit. So im dead till tomorrow after work. if you look in the pic you can see the missing bushings on the passenger side shock.

Swan are the field and armature wires the same size. My motor should come in tomorrow and I was looking under mine and it looks like the arm. wires are larger. I assume they would be the same size as the battery wires. But the field wire don't look any bigger than 10 gauge?? Yours look all the same. What size are yours?

Yours are probably 10 gauge wires because you have a Sepex motor and he has a Series motor.

Thanks Cartrader. So the field cables on a sepex don't carry the same load as the armature and they do on a serial motor?
