Default Two solenoids

My cart has two solenoids on it. The one on the pass. side has the pos cable from the pac connected so it's not hard to figure it out but the other one is between the armature wire on the motor and the controllers and has what looks like a wire wound resister jumping it. What is the purpose of this solenoid. The main reason I ask is that I am changing over to a PQ execution motor and noticed that the battery cables are #4 cables but the controller and motor cables are #6. So I know they need to all be #4 but I was wondering if I really need the number two solenoid?
Thanks
AL

Do a search on "disabling plug braking".

If I remember right tahoe explained the solenoid with the resistor coil in the thread.

It's regen braking which I guess CC calls dynamic braking. I got mixed up on terms with the dynamic braking thrown in. Sorry...

Here's the link to the thread I am referring to:

Disable Regen Braking
