My new cc ds and my other new cc ds iq
I started cart ownership originally with a 1200 ezgo workhorse used as my hunting cart in South Carolina it was bought at surplus auction after 2 years motor gave up and I considered rebuild or upgrade but decided instead I would be happier with a quieter electric cart so sold gasser and used funds to purchase 1st CC DS a 1991 model for 500 running with weak batteries and charger
After purchase I began my research for possible upgrade to solid state using used parts from cart dealers that to custom upgrades and in talking to one had an offer for donor cart that had no batteries and issues but as quoted from dealer had all the parts I might want so for 300 dollars I figured couldn't loose and went and picked up and to my surprise cart actually functioned just had front end damage from a teen employee that decided to attempt to catch some air by launching over a curb so I get home and check serial number and to my surprise again I am proud new owner of 2006 CC DS IQ After about an hour I was actually able to remove parts from the 1991 and repair the 06 and Im running around the yard |

Re: My new cc ds and my other new cc ds iq
Now my question is I have been reading that the IQ cart not the best for hunting cart and I AM DISAPPOINTED to say the least I need to know why this is our property is flat terrain hard packed dirt for the most part and when heavy rains come there are some muddy places but I can get around them so with this in mind am I going to be able to do anything to make the IQ cart work Im wanting to add back seat for kids to ride on and they are small children and a foot rest that will be used for bringing the deer back from the woods
To say Im on budget is being nice to this point I have no money out of pocket as I was able to buy the carts from funds from selling the ezgo gas cart Any insight is greatly appreciated and I can do upgrades is can be done a couple hundred dollars at a time as I could save needed money |

Don't know what to tell you about off road use with an IQ. Most of those that go off road want a series cart. Not sure why, but they do. Maybe TDog can tell you the whys and why nots.

I will wait and see I'm pretty sure I can make this work It's not bad terrain but isn't pavement either and I'm.past the getting muddy taking chances part of life so will see what others have to say and thank you for your thoughts I guess in the end should be thankful for being mobile for the price

Re: My new cc ds and my other new cc ds iq
My iq is exclusively off road, its called a golf course.
The reason they say that is a couple things, generally a series cart can make more torque, the iq more speed. Also the shunt motors will have a greater tendency to fail if stalled, say why going up a hill. Stalling is bad for a series cart too but catastrophic for the iq shunt motor. But my iq cart does 25 mph and 7hp non peak hp motor and will climb about anything. |

Yeah I.got 15 mph on gps flat ground paved road in front of the house this morning and that's with weak batteries I'm looking at replacement just trying to figure out if I'm going to go back with the 12 volt or the 8 volt maybe even.6 volt if.they.would fit but 12 volt for me.would probably.work as I don't have to travel too far for hunting maybe 1 mile at the most round trip

Either way the 8 volts are better than the 12 volts
