Precedent Lights not working
I have an 08 Precedent with the factory light kit installed. It's been working great for years, then all of a sudden one evening the headlights turned off for a couple of seconds then back on. A few days later, the headlights or tail lights don't come on at all. I have verified wiring is good and all connections are clean. I have voltage through the switch but doesn't make it to the lights. There is another device which to me looks like a relay. Is there any way to test the relay?

I would check the 9-pin harness connectors under dash. Sounds like one has worked loose.

Re: Precedent Lights not working
A buddy of mine had the same problem...they didn't work for a year or so but he took it to get it worked on and had them fix his lights. There's a ground, that according to them, is known for coming loose causing the lights to quit working. I will try to ask him tomorrow and find out where he's talking about if he even knows and post it tomorrow night.

Re: Precedent Lights not working
I guess if you've checked voltage thru to the load side of the switch, it's not the switch? I have the OEM style light kit too and I just replaced my switch because the one that came with the kit was getting flaky. We'd have to pull, then push a little, turn a little, jiggle it, etc. to get the lights to come on and stay on. It was progressively getting worse and I expected it would start cutting in and out when just riding the cart. Picked up a black rocker switch at O'Reillys that fit the same hole and has a little LED on it that comes on when the lights are on. That little LED (Comes in red, green, or blue - I got blue) is almost like having an interior light, it's so bright. Fortunately the steering wheel keeps it out of my eyes. It's actually pretty cool looking and now no more jiggling the switch to turn on the lights.

It looks like the switch is working 100%, so still trying to figure it out.
