New Club Car Owner - Upgrades planned and have some questions
Hi all, First I want to thank everyone who contribute to this site.
As a new owner of a ClubCar Precedent and being new to Carting in general I have found this site very helpful and it has answered may questions. I have a 2007 Club Car Precedent that looks like it was a former fleet car. It is in pretty good condition. My main question is is there a routine maintenance or checklist I should go over to make sure the cart is safe? I found the owners manual online but it doesn't have the experience all you owners have. Secondly I have already purchased the rear seat kit, hd leaf springs, light kit and I am planning a radio. Are there any pitfalls to avoid while doing any of this? Again I appreciate all the help. Norm |

main thing is keep the batteries clean, charged, and watered on the leaf springs the front bolt can be a little tuff to get out ... spray all nuts & bolts with PB Blaster the day before and let soak radio & lights .. run aux battery .. IMHO REAR SEAT INSTALL what type of light kit ? |

Re: New Club Car Owner - Upgrades planned and have some questions
Thanks for the reply. The light kit I ordered was just the Club Car factory light kit. Bumper mounted headlight and the 2 led rear lights.
It is supposed to plug right in to the factory harness. Do I need to install a voltage reducer, or since it plugs in to the factory harness am I ok? |

You do not have to have a reducer for the lights, but I would install one. When you plug into the blue wire, you are only pulling from one battery which will cause an uneven drain on the pack. This will result in a shorter battery life span. I speak from experience.

Re: New Club Car Owner - Upgrades planned and have some questions
Awesome! Thanks for all the info.
I just got the cart a few days ago. It had brand new Club Car batteries in it. But it also had a bad speed sensor so that is on order right now. It had rear lift shackles which were removed and the rear shocks weren't even hooked to the leaf springs so it was quite a bouncy ride. This will be fixed when we install the HD leaf springs. The first upgrade I did was put some nice SS wheels and tires form ITP on it. I work at a motorcycle store and one of our distributors sells golf cart swag so that worked out well. We removed the rain enclosure, sand boxes, and other golf related items in prep for being a kid hauler. We painted the roof with Krylon fusion and a top cot of plastic trim paint. So far I am happy with the results. I plan on getting some nice seat covers and possibly a stereo in the near future. Here are some photos from when I first got it to now. Also there seems to be two types of rear seats, one that keeps the basket and another that removes the basket. Is one of these better than the others? Again thanks for all the help so far, look forward to sharing my experiences with you guys and gals. |

Re: New Club Car Owner - Upgrades planned and have some questions
If I do go with the aux battery setup, how do you tie that in to the stock harness for the lights?
What battery would you recommend? Where do I put the battery? Does it charge with the main pack? |
