16 volts usually is ok for short periods of time, if not, then you need to get either a 16 to 12 reducer or a 48 to 12 reducer.

Re: help... trying to wire in headlights on a 48volt cart
I was shown that if you use tail and headlights on the same switch you can draw enough juice to run the 16v current. It works.
That being said lets look at the effects of using any 2 batteries out of the pack for accessories....eventually you get 2 batteries which are weaker than the rest of the pack. This runs the charger longer and get the good ones hotter than the good batteries need trying to bring the poor ones up to the good ones and cooks the good batteries....eventually. |

Re: help... trying to wire in headlights on a 48volt cart
In a perfect world where money is no object you would want to get a converter that draws from the whole pack but if you are like alot of us the rain aint making my money tree grow.
If you are running both head and taillights you can run them in series (4 x 12v lights = 48volts) and draw equally across the whole pack. You just need to mount them so they are not grounded. |

I was going to add that part but figured it wasn't that bad with just four bulbs.

Just a note , If you run 4 12v lights in series if 1 bulb goes out all the lights will.
