Default Older Precedent rear roof supports

In looking at older model Precedent club cars I've noticed that the rear roof supports are much wider and have the basket between the 2 seats. IMO this setup fills the gap nicely between the front and rear seats. Is this a simple change that can be made to a newer Precedent? I was told mine is an 2009 model and has the metal rear roof supports and open space between the 2 seats.

Thanks

Check ebay..search Club Car rear struts...I've seen them listed a few times when I was searching for new ones for my DS.

Is it a direct fit or are other parts needed for the conversion.

Does your cart have a flip seat? If so, then you likely wouldn't be able to add the wider struts/basket. If not, then I'll be doing a conversion where I'll have a couple sets of rear struts/baskets for barter!

Many flip seat kits replace the plastic struts with narrow ones.

I am pretty sure all stock precedents use the same roof supports. My son recently turned mine over and busted the roof up and I had to buy a new (used) one. I found one online and asked the seller if it would fit my 06 and he told me it would fit any precedent.

OP, if you have a rear seat, what you are most likely noticing are the replacement rear roof supports that come with most rear seats for precedents. My rear seat is one of the few I've ever seen that keeps the stock rear supports with rain gutter downspouts. I have no idea what kind it is because it was just installed on the cart when I bought it. However, it wouldn't have been my first choice because I don't like how the rear backrest mounts considerably higher than the front and the part that flips out, though I rarely use it, is already bowed in the middle when flipped out.

I don't have the cart near me at the moment, but I am almost positive the rear backrest bolts up to the rear supports as part of the kit and that is likely not going to be compatible with a different rear seat kit.

Gotcha! My rear seat kit is MadJax and was installed before I got the cart.

Your cart came originally with the thick plastic supports. The Madjax rear seat comes with replacement metal supports. Your rear seat kit will not work with the originals. As Saltlife CC said, very few of the seat kits for Precedents retain the original supports.
If you decide you want to use one of the kits which use the original supports, I would be willing to part with mine.

If your rear seat has retained the plastic roof supports and you also still have the sweater basket it is most likely a Red hawk seat.
