Default Color wiring diagram

Aniyone have a color wiring diagram???? I have checked out the ones here but they are black and white and not real clear. I have an 87 DS and need to know the wiring for the forward/reverse and the charger wires. I got the cart at an auction and the wiring is really hacked up. I dont think the charger works, there is a plug attached to the batts that is grey, female type. I think it is a SB50 type? I think. I hooked the batts up according to a diagram i found on here but it doesnt move, i have some wires in the wrong places.

Schematics can be overwhelming. I haven’t seen any on the ‘net in color but I did see one with the larger cables in bolder lines.

You are probably better off with the black and white. Print it out, get out your Sharpies and trace your lines. As you do, you’ll be concentrating on one wire at a time and find it’s not as overwhelming as it appeared.

Now print out a new black and white copy, go to the cart and trace them again but this time verifying that each wire is connected correctly before you color the line. Alternatively, you could use one color (lighter) for the next one you will check and color over with a darker color when it’s verified. When all the lines are colored, you’re done.

If you are replacing the larger main power cables, now is your chance to go BIG. I picked up some cut out sections of 4/0 (four aught) welder lead but with the expense of the end clamps, I may just use 2/0 cables I can buy at Autozone. I will be using the full ring, copper post clamps for better connection.

Wire has resistance as do connections. When you run current through those resistances, even though tiny, you are adding heat to the universe and losing power to your motor. A total resistance of 0.01 ohms at 200 amps means a loss of 2 Volts at the motor, that’s 400 Watts or a little more than half a horsepower.
