Did I kill my Buddy's charger with bad OBC?

This is my first post in this forum, so please be patient with me. I have an electric 2005 Precedent that I've had for about 4 years. I replaced the batteries last year and it's been working fine. Last week I noticed when I plugged in the charger I heard the relay click, but no transformer hum, and no gauge movement. The cart still has charge, and drives normally in forward or reverse. I read all I could find on this forum, and tried the obc reset. There was no buzzer sound during the reset and it didn't seem to help. I tried my buddy's charger, also a PowerDrive2, and it did the same thing.
Now here is the main problem...now when my buddy plugs his charger into HIS cart it does the same thing! Could my cart have damaged his charger? Would a bad obc be able to do that? I plan on bringing my cart home and start the testing I have found on this forum, but would appreciate any advice.

Welcome to BGW!

I have never heard of this; usually when an OBC fails, the cart just won't charge, but it doesn't hurt the charger.
Have you tried your charger on his cart?

This manual should help. I gather that Lester makes the Power Drive charger since there is a similar manual available on their web site.

Yes, I did try my charger on his cart. I got the same result, click of the relay with no charging.

Hmmm. Stevegrmich on here has a picture of how to bypass the circuit in the charger that controls the OBC. If it charges after that, the OBC is bad. Hopefully he sees this thread...

If you are plugging the charger or chargers in to the same outlet or extension cord, try another. Mine did the same thing. When you plug the charger to the cart the solenoid will click even if the charger is not plugged in. I had already pulled the cover on mine and was using Steve's method for checking when I discovered I had no power on the 120V input terminals inside the charger. It was a bad end on the extension cord. Boy was I glad that"s all it was.

Good idea, I'll check the voltage in the outlet first. I didn't realize it would click the relay with no power. His charger is on the same circuit, a few carts down in the same shed.
