Default 97 Club car wont go after shorting A1 with B-

I have a 97 CC DS 48v.

I was in the process of installing new wires and a F&R switch. While I was putting the wires on the motor I accidently hit A1 and B-(controller) with my wrench which resulted in a a nice little spark. Yes I know I should have diconnected the power......

I went ahead and got the rest of the wires in place and tried it.....Nothing. I noticed the Solenoid is not clicking.

I found one blown fuse on the grey wire coming from the charger plug going to the OBC. Replaced it, still nothing.

I have not replaced the solenoid or its wires yet. Wanted to try it out before doing more work.

I guess I need to figure out why the solenoid isn't working......

Any ideas?

You probably killed the controller.

Put the cart on stands and jump the 2 large posts on the solenoid. Its very possible you fried the controller. What controller do you have, I noticed in your SIG you have an upgraded motor

Ok but how does that determine if the controller is bad? Which was what he was wanting to know. If it doesn't go that still doesn't mean his controller is bad. I have a similar problem with mine That I am trying to determine what is wrong. I do know my solenoid works as mine goes in reverse no matter where the F/R switch is (except neutral).

Its obviously better to make sure the 40 dollar solenoid is working before moving onto the $300 controller...

He said the solenoid wasn't clicking. If you jump it and it works, then you have a bad solenoid.

Sorry you're having trouble with your cart. Might wanna start your own thread to get it sorted out

I have started my own thread on my problem, several days ago. Reading about others that might give me an answer. I see your point on checking out a $40 solenoid first.

I jumped the solenoid, still nothing.

I should also note that charger is not responding when plugged into the cart.

Also with the new F&R switch installed the reverse buzzer sounds in both forward and reverse.

Does the charger also need the Controller along with the OBC to charge?

Where can I find a clear drawing of what wire goes where, I did upgrade the cables to 2ga, maybe I mixed one up. I did the wire for wire method to not get confused while doing this.

I feel like kicking myself for not unhooking the main batt cables before doing the work, but anyways here I am trying to figure this out.
