Default 2003 "AQ" lighting problem

Front and rear lights not working. I have checked the most obvious, no loose wires or bad fuses. Cant seem to find a diagram including lights. Thanks for your help.

How are they connected? Via voltage reducer or straight to the batts?

Question Re: 2003 "AQ" lighting problem

Not sure. There is a single wire on the " first " battery that runs into a fuse then goes to the switch.

OK. Where does the negative come from?

The red wire to the battery is followed by the wires directly behind the battery terminal. I am thinking this is the negative. The blue end in picture is loose. How to "tighten" ? Thanks

You cant find a diagram because the lights are not factory.

After getting this connection tight, this "piece" in the pic started smoking immediately. This appears to be beyond my ability to repair.

The bus bar started smoking? Its pretty simple stuff. The lights need 12v. If you don't have a converter you can either give them 8 and they will be dim or you can give them 16 and they will be really bright, and the bulbs might not last as long. The correct way to do it is to get a 48v-12v converter.

As always, if you aren't comfortable messing with it, take it to someone who is!

Curious, why would it start smoking? Very happy with this cart other than no lights.
