Battery Warning light on 2007 Precedent
Hey guys this is my first question so sorry if it has already been answered, my club car precedent 48v warning light comes on whenever I slow down to almost stopped stays on for a few seconds then goes away, i have done a few things to try and eliminate some problems.
The Specific gravity in all batteries is fine. All batterys read within .5v of each other. The total battery bank fully charged voltage is 50.5V When under full load the bank voltage drops to 44V with no warning light but when slowing down and the voltage goes back to 49V while still moving it comes on. Any ideas or help would be great thanks |

Re: Battery Warning light on 2007 Precedent
Is your total pack voltage reading of 50.5 taken immediately after charging? It should be measured 12 hours after a charge cycle for an accurate reading.
The battery warning light will come on when pack voltage drops under 48.1v while cart is stopped. Bring your voltmeter with you and check battery pack voltage when it happens again, the warning light might be operating correctly and if you haven't drove very far you may have some weak batteries. Record individual battery voltage in that case to determine health of each. |

Re: Battery Warning light on 2007 Precedent
Thanks very much for the advice, this is what i have found,
The light comes on after almost coming to a stop with the multi meter reading 48.8V this is after the cart voltage drops to 44V while in motion. The specific gravity for one cell in one battery is lower than the rest not by a great deal but prob 2 indications would this be casuing the problem? i am charging each battery for 12 hours on a car charger just to give them a deep charge to see if it fixes the problem. |

Re: Battery Warning light on 2007 Precedent
Since the warning light is working, the obc is real accurate at determining pack voltage so it must be at or near 48.1v stopped after cruising. You said your meter read 48.8v which I believe. Now the question of which is correct. Unless you are using a nice voltmeter like a Fluke I suspect your meter might be out of calibration. Some cheap meters can be off as much as a whole volt. Something to consider...

What is the age of your batteries?
Or what is stamped on the negative post? |

Re: Battery Warning light on 2007 Precedent
I think the meter is fine its a fluke cat 4 so its a good one but you never know even the best things break, the batteries are 2010 but it a new cart to me so the last thing i can think is they were very poorly treated or the cart was sitting a long time and the sulfate build up isnt reverseable???
