Battery discharge confusion

Hey guys when I was trying to fault find a problem on my cart I was using a multimeter to do so, while doing this I was testing the cart under load and also standing still this is what I found and am unsure if its normal from everything else I have read.

At full speed up a small hill the total volt reading was about 45v
As soon as I stop it goes to 50v

So when people are talking about discharging there the batteries to 50% max is this when stopped or when moving? Or should my batteries never read under 48v under any circumstance??? Thanks again just trying to get my head around this.

a 48v battery system should not be below 42v while under load, except maybe very briefly during extreme acceleration. a 36v system should not be below 31.5v under load, except as stated above. these numbers do not represent true state of charge while stopped. 42v (48v) or 31.5 (36v) at rest is way too low, and presents a damaging condition to the batteries.

Thanks very much for your fast response i now understand 42V under load is the lowest and no more than 48.5V while sitting thanks again

100% state of charge is approximately 50.9v at rest. 46.1v at rest is 0-10% state of charge. shallow discharges are always better than deep discharges.

My cart drops down below 42v while under load at times. If I am going up a hill it'll get down around 40, the other day on the 4th, after a long day of riding I was going up a steep driveway and it got down to 35v.
The cart still pulled the hill fine with plenty of power.
