96 speed controller
my 96 club car will not move. Solenoid engages when pedal is pressed but cart will not move. My tests indicate a bad speed controller??. Is their a chance I can get a controller without costing an arm and leg? used or otherwise.

Re: 96 speed controller
Welcome to the forum!
It could either be the motor or controller. You should test the motor before you get a new controller. I do not know the steps off the top of my head, but if you search 'testing motor' on here, you should come across a thread where someone has done it. If the motor runs, then it is your controller. You can post a wanted ad in the parts section, I'm sure someone has a used one laying around... |

Re: 96 speed controller
Thank you for the welcome and thank you for the info. I have tested the motor and it checks OK. I am just not positive that controller is problem, wondering if it might be potentiometer?? Had not located the Pot. until today will do more testing tomorrow.

Re: 96 speed controller
My first cart was a 96 and it had a pot box. It is directly under the go pedal under the cart. There are two screws holding the cover on. You can remove them and play with the adjustment of it. If nothing happens, it has to be your controller I would think, especially since you get a solenoid click when you press on the pedal.
BTW, 96 was the only year CC used the pot boxes. They almost always fail at some point. They are not made to be used in a wet location under a cart. An MCOR conversion is the way to go if you have throttle issues. |

Re: 96 speed controller
You'll have to jack up the front of the cart to get under it.
I would use jack stands to be safe if you have them... |
