Default Is this correct?

I have my newly acquired royal ride stripped down for paint. I was cleaning the under side of the frame and noticed this switch by the brake pedal. It looks like a brake light switch. Shouldn't there be two switches? Is that even mounted in the correct place? When I took the wiring apart for the whole car, I noted where the two wires were connected. The Yellow wire comes from a switch on the dash labeled "brake lights" and the white wire comes from a little red colored light housing mounted on the dash. Almost looks like a warning light.

Does this sound like the way it should be? Any good electrical people know why it is wired that way?

Thank you all for your help.

yes that is the right switch , simple on / off
as for the wireing your describing it sounds like they had a dash switch to turn off the brake lights when cart is off .. the other may be a reminder light

if you need i could diagram it out for you

What's weird is how would the switch get pressed to turn on the lights? It is mounted in front of the brake Assembly arm. So if you push on the brake the arm moves away from that switch not toward it... The only Time it clicks is if I pull back on the brake with my hand it will move the arm back and make it click

pushed in is off .. out is on ... the switch is in the off position as it sits .. when brakes are pressed it turns on the brake lights

right, but when the brake pedal is at rest, it doesn't even move back enough to click in the switch. Should i just move up the switch a little? I'm talking about centimeters but its still off enough where it doesnt click unless i physically pull back on the brake pedal.
