95 Club Car DS not charging
LOL, Im full of question and problems today guys...
This cart is a 95 Club car DS, 48v, new batteries, charger will not come on. I tried jumping from another cart incase it was just to dead but that is not the case. Charger is good because I tried it on another cart. But on this one, you hear it click but nothing happens. I took it for a 3 miles ride, motor starting getting loud and smells like burning. When I got back the motor would burn your hand. Now, will a bad motor hinder the cart from charging or do I have 2 problems here. Thanks Guys |

Re: 95 Club Car DS not charging
I don't think the batteries are too low, It still seems like it has plenty of power, They are reading about 8.4-8.6

Re: 95 Club Car DS not charging
8.6 x 6 = 51.6v is a fully charged battery pack .. charger would not come on then

Re: 95 Club Car DS not charging
Resetting the Club Car On board computer - reset the OBC
To reset the OBC the following must be done in this order: If no Tow/Run Switch then skip that step • Key Switch to Off • Forward/Reverse to Neutral • Tow/Run Switch to Tow • Disconnect the Battery NEGATIVE (–) wire from the Battery Minus terminal on the battery pack. • Put the Tow/Run to Run • Forward/Reverse Switch to Reverse • Key Switch to On • Lock the throttle pedal down The reverse buzzer will sound and go off in about 30 seconds. Leave the cart like that for 5 min to cause the OBC to reset. To reconnect the OBC back into the system: • Key Switch to Off • Forward/Reverse Switch to Neutral • Tow/Run switch to Tow • Reconnect the Batt – wire to the battery minus terminal on the battery pack. • Tow/Run switch to Run • Key Switch to ON |

Re: 95 Club Car DS not charging
OK, I tried that, no good. Something is really wrong here. I know when you hook the battery back up they are going to arc a little, but this "pop" and spark was extreme. Im pretty sure the motor is going bad and Im gonna replace that Monday, but I don't know why it will not charge, like you said I didn't think that would affect it.
