Default 2003 cc DS series solenoid not firing

My son an I are trying to restore a 200 CC ds series cart
We downloaded the awesome electrical diagrams from this site and all wires seem to be correct. Installed new battery pack, fully charged.

Key on, press pedal, nothing
reverse horn works.{even when key off? } I m currently jumping the switch because I am not sure it works

Based on other posts I jacked back and jumped the 2 large posts on the solenoid. Pressed pedal, wheels spin.

I read on another post that the 2 small wires to the solenoid should have a charge when key on, and f/n/r on f, then 1 goes neg when pedal pushed.

Well, my small wires have no current in this situation. However, when I push the pedal, both wires have current. Capacitor doesnt click under either case.

any ideas what to check?

Talking 2000 DS series 48V solenoid doesnt fire

I requested a MOD move the thread to the CC section, so be patient.....
Mean time, download and print out the wiring diagram for your cart and search out the source for your solenoid activation. The - will come from the controller or OBC and the + will come from the micro switch in the MCOR. You are likely missing one of these two. Figure out which one you are missing and proceed to find where it stops.

The reverse buzzer is quite normal. The solenoid should show no voltage across the small terminals with the pedal at rest and pack voltage when the pedal is pressed. If you have a diode across the small terminals make sure that the silver band is on the pos. side (red wire). Voltage across the small terminals should activate the solenoid. If you did not get voltage across the small terminals when pressing the pedal then you can try jumper the small terminal with the yellow wire to the controller neg. If that works then the OBC or the continuity of the yellow wire that goes to the OBC is faulty.

OK Cool. I think I am getting somewhere. Thank you, Golfdog.
I jumped the yellow wire to the small terminal of the solenoid to the negative connection on the controller, and the wheels turned when pedal pressed. I checked the continuity of that yellow wire, and it is good. So, does that mean my OBC is shot?

Thanks,

It means that the OBC has a fault in that it should create the neg. feed which it disconnects when you plug in the charger. If the charger still charges in the normal way ie It switches on then off for a few seconds before continuing the charge and tapers off to below 5A before switching off, then you can keep the OBC and the jumper attached. It just means that the cart can be driven accidently with the charger plugged in.

That's great news. I will check the charging next. Thanks

Well, here's what I did.
1) I plugged the charger in and nothing. Brief click, then nothing. No charging, no meter read, nada.
2) I reset the OBC following the instruction on the sticky on this board (reverse buzzer did not buzz at all during reset)
3) Connected charger again, still nada.

Does this mean the OBC is probably bad?
Thanks

It seems that way. If possible find a car that is known to be good and plug your charger into it. If it works then your OBC is the problem.
