bad controller?

My Dad's Stealth 4x4 quit the other day. He tried to apply tension on a tree they were falling and it quit.

I have voltage going into the controller but none leaving. Does that pretty much sum it up or is there something else I should check?

All I know about the controller is that it's logisystems and pretty sure it's 700 amp.

Not a good idea to stall the motor on an IQ cart.

It's a series drive but still a bad idea. Tremendous heat is generated in a stall situation, that heat can kill the controller.
Check to see if you have power to pin #1 when the solenoid clicks and you try to go.

By stalling do you mean holding the gas and the cart is not moving?

Yes that is stalled..Think about it .... What will happen to a compressor motor if your compressor freezes up. If the belts don't slip it will fry the motor quick. Pretty much a dead short.

Hey Scotty,
Is pin #1 labeled. I have searched on here to see which it is to no avail. I presume I should expect full battery voltage on it?

Here's a pic of the controller. When you said pin I was expecting one of the multi-pin connectors. This only has 3 spades on it.

The little red wire is on pin 1
The throttle input is on pin 2 & 3
If there is power (48v positive) to pin 1 when the solenoid clicks, and the throttle signal at pin 2 & 3 is good (0-5k or 5k -0 ) then we can test the controller.

Pin 1 read about 2 volts less than the pack.
meter set on 20k with red lead on yellow and black lead on green wire reading fluctuated as pedal was pushed from -2 to -7 or -7 to -2 I don't recall now. But I'm not sure which lead should've gone on which pin.

Doesn't matter it (throttle signal) is a resistance reading. Just when the solenoid clicks you should read pack voltage (50v) between M- and B- on the control. Then as the peddle is depressed that voltage reading should drop to near 0v.
Based upon having power at pin1 and good throttle signal, if the above voltage reading does not drop as the peddle is depressed the controller has failed. Logisystems is no longer in business. The recession got em. A good equivalent replacement would be the GE700, it has a peak output of 800 amps.
