Default Club Car Jerks

2003 48v Club Car DS jerks like crazy when pushing on accelerater to go forward or reverse. At first thought might be the F/R switch but am also told it could be the solenoid. Please

Who you callin Jerk

Gotta admit, thats how the title read to me

Do you hear "clicking" sound that corresponds with the jerkiness?

Sorry about the confusion----it is just one sudden and hard jerk. This occurs when trying to go forward or reverse when the accelerator is pushed. There is really no clicking that I have heard.

Does it move after the initial jerk or does it stop ?

Gotta admit, it was tough to figure how to ask this after reading the replies

If it stops, the cart may have low self-esteem.

This sounds like what I called a slip when I pressed the go pedal the other day. No one seemed to understand what I was trying to say. However it would make since, if the solenoid is loosing contact and then reconnecting. Maybe the contacts inside the solenoid are burnt, and not getting good connection sometimes.

Let me try and clarify---I put the cart in forward or reverse and press the accelerator and at times the cart wont move. I move the lever slightly and it is almost like contact is made, the cart jerks hard one time, and moves either forward or reverse without further problems. Batteries good, new cables.

Sounds like dirty and or worn contacts on the F/R switch. Can either clean or replace it. I would be more likely to replace. BUT try to clean and look to see if contacts are worn badly!
