Default 2006 Club Car lights are very dim HELP

I disconnected the switch and connected the two yellow wires and notice the lights are verrrrrryyyyy dim. I noticed the switch didn't work, so I had to connect the two yellow wires off the switch and that's what I get.

12v or 8v batteries? Factory or aftermarket lights? Voltage reducer being used? So many questions, so little time . . .

4 12v batteries and yes a voltage reducer. The tail lights work and are bright. I bought headlights from walmart for it and disconnected one of the tail lights and connected the head lights and the new ones are also dim. Where is a good grounding point? Obviously not on the aluminum frame.

Never ground anything to the frame. Ever. Always run a separate ground wire to either the negative post of the battery or the reducer negative wire, if it has one (follow reducer instructions).
