Default Only speed I have is slow!

Hello to all, I am new guy here, just getting into carts

As my luck would have it, my first purchas has a problem! I have 2002DS 48V.

It will run but it goes very slow! I have replaced the batteries, all 6, with new interstate batteries. This cart looks to have a new motor in it, could the controler be bad and how do I check?

Thank you all in advance

is it a reagan cart? does it have a lever or switch for F&R .........if its a reagan cart could be the reagan solenoid sticking.......if sdo theres a single coil behind the batteries see if its getting hot or glowing red after driving a while............is it slow to take off from a standstill or just slow while driving? how slow is slow 5 mph, 10 mph ? was the cart as slow with the old batteries? is charger working ok and shutting off by itself..................................

It is the the large lever style F/R switch. It was slow with the old batteries and the new ones, I thought replacing the batteries would fix the problem, it didn'r It will run about 3 miles an hour max. The new batteries are fully charged.

Looking at the, underside now, this thing has a new stock motor in it 48V, somone has already tried to fix this problem! I am looking at the controler hooked to the power pedal right now, can't tell much about it.

Thanks
Jim

Few questions:

Does the motor have a plug coming off the end of it?

When you push the pedal down, how far down does it go before you hear the solenoid click

(need meter for this)Jack a rear tire up, when you go from the main positive battery to the main negative battery, what voltage do you have before and after the pedal is down.

How many water holes do your new batteries have?

With pedal to the floor I get 30 volts between A-1 and A-2 and no volts between S-1 and S-2. Motor has no plug on it.

On the main battery posts, got 50 volts pedal up and pedal to floor got 48 volts.

Thanks

Just checking, I've had the brakes locking cause your problem.

Is there a v-shaped box between the batteries on the far driver side and the middle batts.. Or do you have the MCOR which is located under the floorboard connecting to your pedal.
(a 2002 should be under the floorboard)

Do this if you are comfortable..

External motor test: Disconnect the wire that runs from the solenoid to the b+ from the battery. Put car in reverse, turn key on, and hold down til buzzer doesn't sound any longer

Disconnect all motor wires using two wrenches, so you don't turn the post.

From a1 to a2, you should have continuity
from s1 to s2 you should have continuity
from a1 to s1 you should have no continuity
from any post to motor case, should have no continuity

if those readings are off, then you definitely have a motor problem.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
we know your OBC is good, because your solenoid clicks
your voltage checks out
MCOR is new
f/r switch is activating properly..
motor appears new..
brakes are not locked..
controller is my best guess.
