Bad batteries or charger?
Have a 93 with a stock 36v system. Batts are US2200, the charger is an LVS LV-3600 I picked up a few years back when my ClubCar charger blew up. I'm reading 37.1v on the batteries after charging for about a day. This sounds low to me, but that's why I'm here. The charger seems to settle on 2-3amps when running. I tested the motor and it spins ok. How do I test to see if it's bad batteries or the charger?

Re: Bad batteries or charger?
check with a voltmeter.. charge should be 38,27v after full charge and 12hours rest ... plug in charger and check volts on battery pack it should rise from around 40v to 44.5v at full charge and it will shut off charger .. test each battery after full charge and rest they should be at 6.3v any less than 6v are weak Last edited by crash test dummy; 07-30-2013 at 03:18 PM.. Re: Bad batteries or charger?
With the charger off the whole package reads 37.6, none of the batteries read below 6.28. With the charger on, it went to 39.8. The charger has been running all day.
The cart barely moves at this point. |

Re: Bad batteries or charger?
I would say charger is working ... cart should be movein good at those volts .. let it charge til it shuts off then try it
also check the resisters for breaks & vglide for movement and brush contacts |

Re: Bad batteries or charger?
Ran the charger last evening and most of today. No change. I will check some of the electrical components tomorrow.

Re: Bad batteries or charger?
Didn't get to it yesterday (rainy day), today I was gonna start looking at some of the components. Just for grins, measured the battery voltage and it's now down to 35.1. Doesn't look good for the batts, does it?
