Default Battery Question I'm brand new to the hobby....and I have a question about batteries...

I have a 73 Caroche....its a 36v cart and has the standard 6-6v battery set up. I was wondering if when I have to do a battery replacement, if I could use 3 12v deep cycle marine batteries? If so, would the 36 volt charger that came with the cart charge the 12s?

I consider myself a pretty handy guy....but I have absolutely no experience with this kind of fact looking at how the batteries are wired in succession just leaves me in Anyway any input would be appreciated...

You can use 12v marine batteries, but that would not be very wise. Marine batteries will have an extremely short life in a cart. I know because my cart had new marine batteries when I purchased it and they lasted less than a year. I know it cost more, but you need to stick with 6 volt cart batteries. The life and performance will far outweigh any money you save in the short run.
