Cart under water (IKE)

My 2002 Club Car was submerged by Ike. Is it worth while repairing or just junk it and try for a new one?
What would need replacing?

It is electric. 48 volts. Series motor I believe

rinse it really good with fresh water, drain the rear end and fill with diesel and let soak, then drain and fill with proper gear oil. Let everything dry out really well after you rinse it. Do NOT try to turn the keyswitch or anything ON until you have cleaned and dried everything. If you have a controller, you might want to open it up and flush it with electrical contact cleaner, or flux remover to help flush out any water and salt residue, and let it dry before reassembling it. Same with any other electrical component like microswitches, etc., hose them down really good to flush away salt residue, and let things dry. Key switch, etc. same deal. Wash everything else thoroughly with clean water, and you should be ok. Oh, and as recommended in another thread, disassemble motor and wash it really good, and let dry before reassembly.

You might be able to revive it without any major difficulty. Even just flushing everything with water, and draining the rear end and refilling with proper gear oil may be enough, but I'd take the extra steps to make sure it's clean of any salt and sea monsters. :)

I wouldnt soak my rear end in diesel. Diesel contains methanol and will eat out the rubber seals in your differential. Just my -.02
