What Controller to Buy for an 06 Precedent

I have 2006 CC Precedent with a 6" lift, 23" inch tires and a rear seat.
The cart really lacks TORQUE and was wanting to know if a DCX 500 amp controller would help the problem. I was hoping to keep the stock motor but I will change it out if I have to.

amps = torque, volts = speed, a 500 amp controller will help, but doing that alone will give you minimum gains.
