Default Lift question from a beginner

I purchased a 1988 stock ds from a retired golfer. I recently installed ScottyBs conversion and a motor. I went all in C74 with a D&D es-81 motor. I haven't changed the batteries yet because mine are only 1yr old. When the batteries are done I will change to 48v. I would like to do a lift but I don't really know anything about lifts. I have never lifted anything. I don't need a lift for any purpose other than I like the way they look. I'm not off roading (yet). I would like to go with 10" wheels unless you guys recommend something else. I'm not sure if I need a arm or spindle 6" or 4".

Hi! I put a 6" on mine just for look's that I wanted. I also used an A arm lift Just for looks, but cost a little more. It's really up to how much to spend and what you do with it. The spindle lifts are clean looking, the a arm's I think look like a lifted off road ATV type thing and a lot more to take care of such as greasing and cleaning. If I had to do over again I think I would go with the spindle's. Iwould use 10" wheels min. so you can put disc brkes on later. Good luck to you Joe 100

I am a fan of the A-arm lifts from All Sports, particularly the Super Sport. The main reason is the the spindle lifts replace only the spindles, which mean you re-use your tired factory delta-arms, springs, etc. I can almost promise your bushings will be worn out, and your front spring may have some sag. I also believe the All Sports heim joint design is stronger. This lift is only about ~$60 more than a spindle lift.

Whatever you do, while installing the lift take the opportunity to re-pack your wheel bearings (easy to do, YouTube it) and check your 3 rod ends (2 on tie rod, 1 on steering arm). If these are in good shape you will have nice, tight steering.

You can get the All Sports kit in a 4" or a 6". If you are going to run a street tire, I'd go 4". If you are going to run a 22" or 23" off-road tire I'd go 6". Good luck, post pics!

I am not a fan of either of those, I would go with an Allsports long travel.

No doubt that is a sweet kit, but seems impractical for someone who doesn't do much Off Road (as the OP said) to drop $1k on the kit alone.
