Mounting my 12v converter and fuse panel

93 DS - Ok, just got my 12v converter from ScottyB and my Blue Sea 6 circuit fuse box. Trying to figure out where to mount them. There's room to one side of the F-R switch for both, kinda tight. How hot does this thing get in normal use? There's also a vertical support member on each side just behind the battery compartment with holes already drilled that match the spacing on the converter. I'm concerned about the proximity to the resister, tho. Took the "hood" off to see if there was anywhere in there to mount it, doesn't look promising and I'm concerned about splashing and dirt getting in there.

Any ideas?

Here is how I mounted mine (1990 DS).



I added a piece of 2" aluminum angle as a cross member, and mounted controller, reducer to that and the factory seat support cross member. This results in a very sturdy mounting surface, and is high and dry.

Then, I used the factory heat shield as a convenient place to mount the fuse block. This allows easy access to check fuses or add circuit.

I ended up doing something similar, finished up today. Mounted the converter upside down attached to that same cross-member. Since I still use the resistors, I mounted the fuse-block to one side of the F-R switch on the inside of the body panel.
