How long should batteries stay warm after charging?
Hey all-
Noob question here. I finally got around to the battery install phase of my restore project (1990 Club Car DS, 48V Solid State conversion). I got the batteries installed yesterday, and charged overnight. I noticed this morning, upon unplugging the charger, that the batteries were warm, which I understand is normal. Pack is 51V, so should be a full charge. What is strange is that now, 3 hours later, the batteries are still 10+ degrees warmer than the ambient around them. Batteries are at 99F degrees, the rest of the garage is about 89F. Is it normal for them to take this long to cool down? The batteries are brand new US Battery 8V, and the charger is a brand new Scotty B unit. |
