New Precedent owner in Houston area, referred by Simple Man.
My wife and I just moved out to her family's cattle ranch about an hour outside of Houston where we remodeled an old ranch house. Instead of firing up my 245k mile truck every 30 minutes to go a couple hundred yards for visiting family members or hauling stuff around, we decided to get a golf cart. I found one in really good shape with brand new batteries installed that same morning, and purchased it the next morning.
It runs like a banshee, and we are really enjoying it so far. We will likely add the rear-facing seats that fold out into a truck bed, and my wife is looking into adding flame vinyl decals Hopefully we can get a couple years good use out of this thing without any issues! |

CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to BGW. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wive's, husbands, girlfirends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!! |

Hi Scoop! Glad to see you on the board! Everything you will need to know about your cart can be found here! I hope y'all are enjoying your new place and you'll find that cart to be indispensable! The main thing with an electric cart is the batteries so here's something to read when you can. The charging is most important. Read everything in the menu that has the word " battery " in it. It'll really help for the care and maintenance of your new batteries!

The guy that sold it to me stressed the battery care as the most important thing, as well.
I guess I better delve into that link and take a look! |

OK, found the owner manual for the cart and the charger, and more importantly, the battery break-in procedure and the discharge percentage chart.
I found that my cart is right at 75% now so I put the charger on it as per the recommended break-in procedure. Also, used my GPS and I am traveling at 13 mph with the occasional 14 mph burst. Is this about right for my cart? It is plenty fast. |

Ordered a digital gauge so I don't have to carry around a volt/ohm meter.

Ordered new semi-knobby tires and rims, should be in and on Monday afternoon.
Installed my digital volt gauge. Luckily, there were accessible wires behind the dash I could use so I didn't have to run fresh ones through the chassis. Installed it in the same hole as the dummy battery light, after shaving that hole a little bigger to accept it. |

It beats lifting the seats and using a voltage meter each afternoon!
