Great 36v motor results
First off, Hello to everyone and thanks for amazing amount of information and ideas.
I have a 2002 CC DS 48V that was sitting in my parents back yard rotting. I managed to get it from them for nothing.
It was a little rough but I stripped it down to the frame and cleaned it really well. A little strapped for money so I bought a used set of batteries($200). They are two years old and hold a great charge, I guess I got lucky. Painted the plastics and cleaned all of the trim. Found some nice ITP "10 rims with good low pro tires, $40 for all four! Lowered the rear a couple inches, wanted to be different from all my neighbors. After visiting here a couple of times, I got the itch for more speed. I found a 36v G.E. D377 motor for $100. Threw it in the cart and I was amazed, 21 mph! Stock motor got me 15 mph. Cleaned all of the battery connections and gained another 1-2 mph. On flat ground this thing is getting 21-23 mph on stock size tires.
In the pic I have the seats wrapped with cheap fabric to see if I like the color before I buy new covers(soon to come). I think I would like black better.
I had no knowledge of electric carts before I found this forum and due to all of the information I now have a great running cart for cheap. Now I have to resist the temptation of making this cart even better.
