What to expect from a motor upgrade?

I am tossing around the idea of upgrading from a stock 92 club car motor to a more "modern" motor.

This is may cart:

- All new 36v to 48v conversion kit (Cables,Controller,Solenoid) thanks to ScottyB.
- 6 new trojan 8v batteries.

-Stock motor

Is this upgrade worth it?
What sort of performance changes will I see ?

general thoughts?

How big is your controller?
For sure if you put a speed or torque motor in it, you will see an improvement...But the thing is you have to choose speed or torque with these sparkies, you really cant have both

I have an Alltrax 4800.

My issue is going up a hill... although I am getting 19mph on flat ground, I drop to about 10 going uphill.

Perhaps my expectations are unrealistic.

Ok, I am no expert on upgrades, as I have always had stock carts, but I have heard that amps deliver torque and voltage delivers speed. Someone who knows more on this will chime in...

If your batteries aren't broken in, you should expect to see some improvement soon. That's what my converted 36v cart is doing.

I have had the batteries since May and have been cycled a few times ... the thing is, it was faster before I dropped it off to get the wing put on it ...

Thats right ... I said wing. ha ha ..

I put a plum quick bandit in mine. Now mine is a 01 48 volt cart, but it went from 12 to 23 on flat. About 19 up hill. Very pleased for less than $300. This weekend we went to breakfast with a friend about a mile away. He has an 08 gas cart. He couldn't keep up with me. Needless to say he was impressed. He said he bought a gasser because they are faster. He never dreamed an electric could outrun him. Another thin I love is I do have the best of both worlds. Although it runs 23. It will creep along so slow you can hardly feel it move.

I put a PQ RattleSnake2 motor and I'm getting 30mph on flat and drops too 17 on a very steep long hill with me and a friend that weighs around 250, I'm 170.... With that being said tire size plays a big part from what most say on here and the bigger tire you run the less torque you will have but mine does fine and will be better on both ends when I get the 2 speed rear end
