Vic from d&d told me my motor would only due 22 or 23 and it did 28.6.. ive seen other d&d customers with similar results..
Sounds like you have the perfect set-up , D&D was concerned with the DS being a Six Passenger , although I'm guessing you were hauling more weight pulling the trailer . I asked about your specific Motor and the answer was No way. Seems hes concerned about the wire from the f&R switch .

I have sent specs to EMP and am waiting on a recommendation. I also checked with the guys at Imaginative on the two speed axle , sounds great however seems like too much for a street cart.

Plumquick is ready to Build a Bandit Motor out of the current OEM motor , says can use all stock parts and expect 21 MPH , AS you can see its a lot of info and options to process . Everyone's all over the place .

something does not sound right, you have a series motor, so you should be able to get the MPH, instead of 8-1 gears why not try a set of 10-1 ? That should be the compromise you need.

IMO, the bandit aint gonna do what you want and still have the torque.

there is a link to a speed calculator just below your user name in a tab called "quick links", scroll down to it.

That's my original thought , the series motor already
Has the torque to spare . I will check the label on motor
For rpm info and do the calculation based on a 20 inch tire
Are you thinking I can just do the gears ?

I am taking my 8-1 out and will sell the whole axle assembly so you can just swap it easily
I enjoy the wheelie popping torque with the stock gears

Thats funny because I just put in a new f r switch cause two of the wires were getting warm. And they are 0 gauge cables!
They never got warm with stock gears

Well if just changing gears will heat all components
Up may not be the best choice

If you want to run gears in an electric cart my suggestion is a torque only motor..
