Its an electric Club Car, thats all i know

As the title states, its an electric club car and I do not know too much about it yet. It belongs to a buddy and I am getting ready to redo it for him. I stopped by his farm the other and looked it over and took some pics. Here a few questions I have:

How do I tell what year it is
What model is it
Approximate weight. Its a 2WD with standard bench seat and rear bench seat that flips down for a utility bed.

go to the club car website and type in the serial number. It will tell you as well as get you the proper manual.

The two letters (1) at the beginning of the serial number indicate the vehicle model. The following four digits (2) indicate the model year and production week during which the vehicle was built. The six digits (3) following the hyphen represent the unique sequential number assigned to each vehicle built within a given model year.



For all DS, Carryall & LSV Models from 1982-PRESENT: The serial number of your Club Car is printed on a bar code decal mounted on the frame directly above the accelerator pedal.



Club Car Precedent Models from 2004-2007: The serial number of your Club Car is printed on a bar code decal mounted on the passenger side inner dash



Club Car Precedent Models from 2008-Present The serial number of each vehicle is printed on a bar code decal mounted either below the passenger side cup holder or above the accelerator or brake pedal

count the water holes in batteries
3 holes = 6v battery
4 holes = 8v battery
6 holes = 12v battery

According the CC site, I have an 92 DS. The serial # is A9829. Not quite the same as the breakdown on the website, but i'll go with it.

If im reading the spec sheet right, it looks like this buggy has 8" wheels. Looking to do a lift to get some added ground clearance. Not looking to go all-out wild, just some new wheels and tires and a little lift. Anyone got any wheel/tire size and lift recommendations?

Any bolt-on overhead storage solutions that anyone knows of?

Any tire bigger than 22" increases final gear ratio to a deficit over 30%. This deficit must be overcome with a larger speed controller & solenoid to use the cart in mild off road conditions. Be aware of the power to weight ratio. Adding weight is not in your favor performance-wise.

Chances are you have a resistor coil drive system as opposed to electronic solid state speed control. If this is the case you will need to convert to solid state to use the cart as you want.

In 1998 the only 36v carts made were resistor coil drive systems.

Yep,if the serial is A98, it's a 1998. Count fill holes on batteries to see if it's a 36 or 48 volt. Each cell is 2 volts.

Look at the charger receptacle, if it has two flat blades it is 36 V.
If the receptacle is round and has three pins it is 48 V

Sometimes we find the wrong batteries in these carts

This way you'll know not only what's in the cart but, what's supposed to be in the cart
