Default Five 8v and one 6v

96 club car ds 48v, i noticed on this club car i just bought theres one battery in the set of six that is a 6v, and the rest are 8v. Is this a huge problem, keeping in mind it charges and runs fine. There is some corrosion on the 6v battery that the 8's dont have. Should I rush and and replace it with an 8 or just wait until i need to replace all the batteries?

If they are not the same Amp Hour capacity, then that is not good. You are going to overcharge slightly because your total number of cells is one shy of what it should be.

People make that mistake often..... Not only will the 6v live a short life but it will shorten the life of the 8v batteries too.

Ok, my father in law owns a marine shop and he's going to ask their battery distributor how much an 8 volt is. Whats a good price on an avg/above avg 8volt battery?

I dunno, but don't get a Marine battery. Get a golf cart battery... and size matters.
Try to match the other 5 amperage wise.

You need to match the capacity rating (Amp Hours) of the other five! This is important when you charge the batteries in series. If they don't match the lower capacity battery(s) will be over charged and will live a short life.
