Speed issue, 8 mph intermittently
Hoping someone has an idea what I need to address here. 2008.5 Precedent with Plum Quick Bandit motor and everything else stock. After the motor was installed it basically is a 50/50 when I press the accelerator whether the top speed will max out normally, around 21-22mph, or at 8mph. Often it will begin by starting at the 8mph, so I come to a complete stop and start again and more often than not the second time around it will kick into normal speed, sometimes however it will take 2-3 tries. I know the speed sensor will default to 8mph if there's something wrong with it, but the fact that it will go normal speed half the time is what has me thoroughly confused. Any insight at all is appreciated!

Probably a 'failing' speed sensor. They sometimes do this when they are about to quit completely. Have you done a speed sensor test yet?

Awhile back I believe I did the test but not certain, could you refresh my memory what the test is exactly?

Re: Speed issue, 8 mph intermittently
Got it thanks, cart is charging right now, I'll try as soon as it's done and report back. Does it matter that it's a Plum quick bandit? Just wondering with it disabling the regen if this test will still have the same effect?

Re: Speed issue, 8 mph intermittently
If you can get under the cart and look at the motor, it should have a speed sensor sticking out the end of it. If you unplug the cart shouldn't run at all.
I would go ahead and try the test and see what happens. |

K tested it, and it passed apparently. Beeping came on and it was definitely braking by itself. Next idea???

Re: Speed issue, 8 mph intermittently
Hmmmm, next I would think MCOR, but I wouldn't rule out the speed sensor yet, as it could just be hit and miss. It would be nice if you could get one off of a good cart and pop it in and see if it fixes it.
