identify controller
Hi all, I'm considering buying a 95 clubcar that is 48 volt. Since it has been modified somewhat, I'm wondering if this is the stock controller or not and is it programmable? What kind of speed can you get from a clubcar. It has 22 inch tires.

Re: identify controller
To my knowledge, the series carts are not programmable. Based on the condition, it looks like the controller was replaced

Re: identify controller
You sure it's a 1995? If so, it's had a full transplant from a 1999-2000 or so Regen2 car. To answer your question no it's not the stock controller for a 1995 car. It's a stock "Regen2" controller from another cart and no it's not programmable. Nothing was programmable until the IQ car came out in 2002.

Thanks, does that controller appear to be the stock one?

Re: identify controller
Tahoe says it's a Regen controller. If you go look at it, check the serial number. The first two digits after the letter is the year. I bet it's later that 95.

Re: identify controller
I posted that last question before I saw tahoe's answer. The cart has been modified with a stretch suspension, 22 inch tires and such. It has a mix of batteries, so those would need replacement. Using that stock controller, what kind of speed could I get? Could I buy a better controller?

Re: identify controller
12-14mph on a non stretched cart with that controller. I wouldn't even attempt to use it on a limo. I'd rip it all out and replace it with a series setup.

Re: identify controller
Can you tell me more about what that would involve? Replacing everything that is. What would you replace it with? By the way, the cart is no steal, he wants $2500 for it.

Re: identify controller
You'd need a motor, controller, wire harness, and a different on-board computer. You're looking at a lot of money to convert it.
