Default Need OBC Reset?

If the charger goes thru the on/off/on procedure when you first plug it in to charge, could the OBC still need to be reset? Charger will not shut off even after 16 hours charging. I watch to make sure the charger does thru the on/off/on procedure when I plug it in to charge and it does, but the charger still won't shut off. After sitting for 8 hours the pack is 51.1v. Batteries are 3.5 yrs old. Water level is 1/4 to 1/2" above plates. I do have to keep adding water as they boil down frequently. 2001 DS RegenII upgraded to an IQ controller.

After 12 hours pack was 50.9. Yup I ONLY use distilled water. Did an OBC reset as per a listing on here, just to pay it safe. Reverse buzzer never did sound. is there a sound when the OBC resets? I did hear a click at the 4 minute 30 second mark, while waiting. Maybe just coincendental, but I heard it. I have never done or had to do an OBC reset before.

I have never done an OBC reset on a cart (never had to), but I have heard that it RARELY fixes any problems...
When working properly, the OBC system will shut off the charger no matter what at 16 hours if it has not turned off before then. Since yours is not doing that, it sounds like it may be faulty. Have you replaced it before?

Never had to change one or reset one. One time another cart went over 16 hrs, but that was only once and worked fine after that. So something new for me.

In my experience OBC reset hardly ever fixes any problem, lol.
Like I said, I've never done it, so I can't really say from first hand experience...
