And I'll answer ...WHY NOT? ....What do you mean by condensed water? Like condensed milk? Explain!! While water from an dehumidifier may have some dirt impurities in it it IS distilled water.

I got a battery filler that is a lot like a turkey baster. Works well.

Also, at my house we have a drain off the a/c that takes the water condensation and puts it outside from under the house. I have it hosed over to my dogs' water bowl. They are never thirsty. Now I am thinking I could occasionally get water for the battery but I will bet I will get mold and bacteria (Legionaire's Disease) that won't hurt the dogs but will kill the battery.

CT, all distilled water is condensed water, but all condensed water is NOT distilled water. The difference is in the fact that distilled water changes from a liquid to a gas, and condenses back to a liquid, leaving impurities behind. Condensed water is merely water vapor from the atmosphere converted back to a liquid. Your A/C unit is corroding as we speak and the metal bits are being carried away in the condensate you are collecting. The water may be free, but it's not any where near the purity of distilled water.

I use this method also. Very neat and easily controlled.

That is an interesting thought. I believe I will but some sort of filter on that water. What are those pipes made of? Copper? Better than lead that the rest of the house probably has (built in 55).

GMan Going to put it this way. Now if I boil water and condense the steam it is distilled water..true?...how pure is it? Depends on the condensing coils. If I use old dirty aluminum, copper, soldered with lead, or even old rusty pipe for the coils it is still, as you put it, "distilled" water, but it is not very pure as it picks up impurities from the coils the same as from an A/C unit or dehumidifier. But it is still "distilled" water going from liquid to gas and back to liquid again. So "distilled water is not necessarily pure! And for our use in batteries the impurities are negligible.

Distilled water 0 ppm, my A/C-Dehuey Condensate 6-12 ppm, my tap water even if filtered through a brita 230 ppm.
