Default 92 club car will not move

cart will not move i have check the voltage on batteries and its at 37 volts.when i press the pedal the soleniod chicks and i can read 36 volts on the wire going to the motor this is with one lead of vom on the neg side of the batteries. Also i hear something cracklin like its getting hot it sounds like either the motor or the controller up above the motor.I just download a much needed wiring diagram from your site.

at 36 volts the battery pack is dead......start with the basics grab and pull each cable to make sure all are good clean and tight..............load test each battery..........after you charge it completey your pack voltage should be well more than 37 volts..........so take the readings and post them......................

I charged batteries and took a reading off each one and had 6 volts. on all of them was 41 volts. Try to run and still no movement . also this noise I hear, I think is coming from black controller box!

thats odd if your reading just 6 volts per battery how the pack can be 41 volts it dosn,t add up.........regardless though if your certain that the cracklin noise is coming from the controller than disconnect main power and carefully remove controller........make sure you mark all your wire locations for when you re-install........smell it to see if it smells burnt and shake it to see if you hear anything......in either case if you do replace the controller, there are diagnostic test you can do to determine if controller is bad but you,ll need a servive manual for your cart as there are several step by steps you have to do in the right order, i also would suggest that if your doing all your own work invest in a service manual for your cart you won,t regret it...................................

I thought the same thing about the volts not adding up but my digital meter dont show tenth. So i was thinking the reading was closer to 7 volts maybe! I'm not absolutely sure that the controller is the problem and I don't want to sway your process of elimination, so if I did I'll be willing to do other checks if we need to. My next question is where is the best place to purchase service manual.
