I appreciate everybody's input. Since I built the cart I do not use it as much as I had anticipated and I haven't spent enough time on here to get the proper education. The batteries are dead due to improper charging largely due to a charger that is not a float charger. I want to get it fixed up and keep it that way.

"a regular 12 volt deep cycle battery will not work, it has to be a battery specifically designed for golf carts"

Care to explain this further?

I know I am an ezgo guy so please don't kill the messenger! Rxv's come with 4 12 volt batteries stock. I got 23 miles out of a charge before limp mode. Converted to 6 8 volt batteries and have gone up to 36 miles and was still running strong but getting sluggish did not enter limp mode though. Just my experience.
