99 Club car will not charge
This isn't my first rodeo with this club car issue. I replaced the OBC and also tried 3 different chargers. Still doesn't work. I did a continuity check on all wires directly from the charger port itself. They all check fine. Did the positive from the port, to where it connects to the battery. Checked fine. Did the negative from the port, to the controller. Checked fine. And checked the grey wire from the port to just after the fuse, still checks out fine. The charger clicks, but does not charge..
Any help guys?? having a major headache on this one. Thanks, Cameron |

Re: 99 Club car will not charge
Can you explain how to bypass the OBC? It's a brand new OBC, directly from Nivel. it's practically impossible to hook up wrong, there's two negative wires, a plug, and then you just connect the wires to the port.

Re: 99 Club car will not charge
first did you reset the OBC after you installed it ?
try resetting the OBC Resetting the Club Car On board computer - reset the OBC To reset the OBC the following must be done in this order: If no Tow/Run Switch then skip that step • Key Switch to Off • Forward/Reverse to Neutral • Tow/Run Switch to Tow • Disconnect the Battery NEGATIVE (–) wire from the Battery Minus terminal on the battery pack. • Put the Tow/Run to Run • Forward/Reverse Switch to Reverse • Key Switch to On • Press the throttle pedal down (hold it to the floor) The reverse buzzer will sound and go off in about 30 seconds. Leave the cart like that for 5 min to cause the OBC to reset. After 5 min release the throttle pedal To reconnect the OBC back into the system: • Key Switch to Off • Forward/Reverse Switch to Neutral • Tow/Run switch to Tow • Reconnect the Batt – wire to the battery minus terminal on the battery pack. • Tow/Run switch to Run • Key Switch to ON |

Re: 99 Club car will not charge
I'm curious, if an OBC goes out, can one simply replace the charger with a smarter unit thus negating the need for the OBC? At just under 300 bucks it seems like a better investment.

Why then is that not the advice dispensed? Seems to come up often with an obvious level of frustration and tail chasing. Again. Just curious.

I've seen many times that the charger just needs a repair kit. |

Re: 99 Club car will not charge
I'm just learning this stuff and know I would appreciate someone explaining both options. I have read so many replaced obc posts and still nothing, yet little talk of an obc removal for a few bucks more
Not a criticism just an observation as I learn more about this, I feel compelled to participate. |
