front end collision damage(Clubcar Carryall1)
So, someone was watching the ladies, and not the path when a pole suddenly jumped out in the way. They must have been going pedal to the floor because the frame is totally bent, and the welds cracked now. Has anyone here had any experience straightening these aluminum frames? I can slap it back together again, but the steering box is out of alignment with the steering column. Could this cause steering binding problems in the future in addition to uneven tire wear, and pulling? Is this now just another parts donor wreck to add to the junkyard?

Serious gorkness!
I'd say its a gonner, but that's just me. A good CC dealer could do it. Can always buy a new/used frame? Others with more knowledge will need to weigh in. |

I HATE when those poles jump in my way!

I've straightened out some gnarly bent frames, but DANG! You can probably get it close and realigned somewhat, but there will probably be some uneven tire wear eventually, maybe some steering linkage and joint wear also. If you need it on the road, find yourself another cart and take off the cowl and make the front end of the wrecked one look as close as you can. Take measurements, you should be able to get it close enough to work, and the more precise you are the better it will work.
Also, that "someone" shouldn't feel bad about the staring and pole hitting, I did it once with a four wheeler and a tree |

Re: front end collision damage(Clubcar Carryall1)
Does anyone have a ClubCar Carry all with the front end apart like this? I need a picture of an unadulterated frame to shop around to some body shops.

I'm going to my Dads' on Sat.,If you still need pics,Pm me Friday. He has a DS sitting, thats stripped,I can get pics and measurements for you then.Any welding shop should be able to square it up,and reinforce it properly,or get a donor-cart,bring it to the welder, along with yours, and let them decide where to splice the frame. It looks worse than it is,almost anything is repairable. Hope this helps.

Re: front end collision damage(Clubcar Carryall1)
you should be able to take any ds cart and cut the frame off and tig weld it to your carryall frame that's the only way to fix that,if it were steel you could straighten it back out but not aluminum
