Motor swap
Will a stock 2005 48v Regen motor work in a 2004 series cart? As far as powering the cart as normal forward/reverse speed without the braking of the Regen.

Whats the differnce between the 2 other than Regan has the brake? Wouldn't the case, armatures and brushes be the same?

Re: Motor swap
I don't know a lot about it, but yes sepex has the braking and on a sepex the copper windings are bigger gauge wire. On a series motor, it's fine copper wire...

Re: Motor swap
Just for the sake of knowing I would like to know the answer. I suspect it has more to do with the motor controller and the way voltage if applied than the windings.

Re: Motor swap
From what I understand, a series motor is series wound, while a sepex motor is separately excited (hence sepex). The way the motors are wired and wound internally is different, which is why they won't interchange.
TahoeDawg would be the guy to explain this best, but I believe what I have is correct. |

Re: Motor swap
I can see what you are saying, but. If you apply the same voltage to the post on the motor, ???, I am missing something.
