Default rear hubs on precedent

I am new at working on precedent golf carts.
I'm having a real problem removing the rear hub on the passenger side.
There is not a hole in the drum to back the breaks off and it is so tight the wheels will not turn.
I got the hub off with a puller, But this broke the hub.
So, for future reference, Please tell me where I went wrong and the best way to remove the hubs.

Thanks
Sonny

Ok I'm replying.
I think it's the latter why people aren't replying (that's the case for me).
So it sounds like the brakes locked up and that's why the hub wouldn't come off?

Thanks Jake
I know they are to tight to come off. I'm just trying to find a way to loosen them up with out breaking the hub.

though Dawg would know what to do.

Thanks again.

I pulled my right rear hub off last night. It was tight to where the wheel was hard to turn. I used a small hammer to tap on the drum as I pulled on it. Very slowly it came off. Not sure but I think you could slip a screw driver in beside the rubber boot on the adjuster and loosen it up. Never tried that because the tapping worked for me and I did not have to get under the cart. Just a thought.

Take a chisel and hammer and cut the head off the brake shoe retainer pin and they will slide off easy.. A new pin should be in the reline kit.

Gadavis Thanks for the info. I think that could work. This was the kind of information I was looking for. Most all of the men on this forum have had more experience than I on club cars. I like the way they solve problems.
Sure wish I had asked before I broke the hub.LOL

Normally though if they are on that tight it is because the drum is worn down and there is only a tiny lip that hands on the back of the brake shoes, braking the drum is not an issue as it would need replacing anyway, I put a bit puller on the drum with a slide hammer and give it a few whacks till that lip of the drum separates and then toss it.
